Jade Hassouné is a Lebanese-Canadian actor. He portrays Meliorn in Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments.


For Shadowhunters, Jade first auditioned for the role of Alaric. He was then asked to audition for Raphael Santiago before getting another call back to try out as Meliorn—the role he ultimately got cast as in a recurring role and was announced on June 16, 2015.[2][3]

Jade was born in Lebanon and raised in Switzerland and Montreal. He graduated from the 3-year Professional Theatre Acting Training Program at John Abbott College and is a 2012 CFC Actors Conservatory alumnus. He was also a resident of the Canadian Film Centre's Actor's Conservatory in 2012-2013.

Jade is part of the dance collective Enigma Dance Productions, which was a semi-finalist on the first season of Canada's Got Talent in 2012, and the band DK MIDAS.[2][4]

Jade has since appeared in one of Canada's most successful series, Heartland, as a recurring character. His film credits include supporting roles in movies such as Brick Mansions, Erased, and ABC Family's Cyberbully. Jade has also performed in various Centaur Theatre and Geordie Productions plays in Montreal, and has co-hosted the webseries Home Alone Zone.

Jade is also involved in comic book, fashion and music industry collaborations, collaborating with various artists on projects to be announced, and has worked with Ubisoft using new technology to capture actors performances for video games in development. In his free time, he is also a professional cartoonist and comicbook creator.[5][6][7][8]
