Sabnock is a demon from Thule.
History[]
In 2012, Sabnock was summoned during Malcolm Fade's ritual to resurrect Annabel Blackthorn. Pulled through a dimensional tear by Malcolm and Arthur Blackthorn's blood and the power of the Black Volume of the Dead, Sabnock hid in Porthallow Church.
Days later, Emma Carstairs and Julian Blackthorn arrived at the church. He emerged from his hiding place and was confused by Emma's behavior due to his limited interaction with humans. He then attacked them, and after giving the Shadowhunters a hard time, he began to burn when Julian broke open part of the church roof and exposed him to sunlight, allowing Emma to stab and vanquish him with a seraph blade.[1]
Physical description[]
Sabnock is a scarlet-black, rippling form composed of clotted, sludgy blood, with two burning white eyes. Its hands end in flat points like the tip of a shovel, each with a single black, curved talon dripping with lucent slime protruding from it. Its mouth is a black slash filled with teeth like shards of red glass, and blood drips from its mouth when it speaks. Sabnock is hard to kill, as any holes opened in its body quickly reform, like water.

- Sabnock is the name of one of the demons of the Ars Goetia, who has 50 legions of demons under his command. He is depicted as a soldier with armor and weapons, the head of a lion, and riding a pale horse.
